Press Note – Funergal

Funergal closed the doors of its 13th edition today at Expourense after two and a half days of intense commercial and training activity, during which it received strong support from professionals in the sector, mainly from the Iberian Peninsula, although visitors from around twenty countries across four continents also attended. In total, the event welcomed 4,700 visitors, increasing the ratio of visitors per exhibitor.
This edition featured 44 exhibitors from 10 countries, including leading companies and professional associations from the funeral sector, which presented the latest innovations and trends in funeral products and services. The main objective of Funergal 2026 was to promote business development, competitiveness, and professional updating within the industry, while also showcasing a wide range of new products and services tailored to the needs of different funeral professionals (from representatives of large companies to family-run businesses), most of whom traveled from various parts of the Iberian Peninsula.
The exhibitor list at Funergal 2026 covered the entire chain of funeral products and services required by the sector. Visitors could find major coffin manufacturers from the Peninsula (including solid wood and cardboard coffins); manufacturers of cremation furnaces for humans and pets; urns, headstones, floral arrangements, jewelry, accessories, and complementary products for funeral services; comprehensive funeral management services; embalming equipment and chemicals; uniforms; specialized training in thanatopraxy; insurance services for funeral companies; consultancy firms; specialized software; Spain’s leading funeral vehicle body manufacturers; national associations representing different professional branches (funeral companies, funeral professionals, cemetery managers, etc.); and media outlets specialized in the funeral sector.
Exhibitors saw Funergal as an opportunity to position their brands among professional visitors, whose numbers and clear purchasing intentions met exhibitors’ expectations.
During this final day, the fair’s presentation area hosted a presentation by the Argentine company Neomemorial, which explained to funeral professionals the many advantages that Artificial Intelligence can bring to their businesses.
Funergal also served as a major gathering point for Galicia’s funeral industry community. As is tradition, the fair concluded with a tasting of pulpo á feira (Galician-style octopus), offered by APEFO (the Provincial Association of Funeral Business Owners of Ourense), who once again acted as host and invited associated companies to attend the fair.
This 13th edition was sponsored by the Provincial Council of Ourense and also received sponsorship and collaboration from the country’s leading funeral service groups, including Interfunerarias and Grupo Albia.
Activity at Expourense will continue next week with the celebration of the ninth edition of Sportur Galicia – Sports Games, taking place from May 28 to 30 and transforming the exhibition center into a large multi-sports arena.
