Funergal 2020 will begin with an International Congress

Ourense, 16/01/2019.- FUNERGAL, the International Funeral Products and Services Fair, reaches its 11th edition loaded with important news. The first one is the change of date, happening to be celebrated in the first semester of the year at the request of the advisory committee. It will be held in Ourense between May 21 and 23. The other great novelty is that Funergal will host the International Congress of Funeral Directors, which will position this event as the great international meeting point of the sector with Europe and Latin America as prominent continents.

 Expourense hosted this morning the first meeting of the advisory committee of Funergal 2020 in which a fortnight of experts from Spain and Portugal participated and in which the structure of the next edition was presented that will be the following: the International Congress of Funeral Directors will be held on Thursday, May 21 and the fair on 22 and 23. The change to the spring season will also complement the fair program with parallel activities that will offer exhibitors and visitors (who usually come from a dozen countries) the opportunity to Know the tourist resources of the province of Ourense.

 Topics such as respect for the Environment or the digital transformation of the sector will be addressed. Among the activities already confirmed for this edition is also the exhibition on Cemeteries of the World that The Funeral Guide will organize

Consolidated as a great international meeting point of the sector, the next edition of Funergal will have the objective of promoting the business and competitiveness of the participating companies through actions such as trade missions with importers of markets of interest to Spain and Portugal. It should be noted that many of the exhibitors of the last edition have already expressed their intention to repeat their participation.

In this meeting of the advisory committee took part the person in charge of Formation of the National Association of Funeral Services of Spain (PANASEF), Reyes Aguilar; the representative for the Northern Zone and Center of Portugal of the Associaçao dos Funerarios de Portugal (AAFP), Paulo Rodrigues; the territorial director of Commerce and director of the ICEX in Galicia, Sergio Prieto; the representative of the Department of Health of the Xunta de Galicia, Laura López; the president of the Galician Federation of Funeral Services, José Becerra; the vice president of the Galician Association of Funeral Services Companies (AGESEF), José Luis Varela; the director of The Funeral Guide, Carmen Olmeda; the manager of the Ataúdes Gallego Group, Victor Gallego; the export manager of Ataúdes Gallego, Lalo Arce; the Zinc Almuiña Interior Manager, Salustiano Almuiña; the manager of the Albia Group in Ourense, Pío Pérez and the manager of Tanatorio As Burgas, Eloy Tesouro. This meeting was coordinated by the director of Funergal, Emma González, who also reported that the Association of Municipal Entities and Companies of Funeral Services and Cemeteries (AFCM) joins the committee of this edition.

 Funergal is the only international fair event in the funeral sector to be held in 2020 in the Iberian Peninsula and which has positioned itself among the major world fairs in the sector. The participation in the last edition of 111 exhibitors from 14 countries, the presence of the large business groups in Spain and Portugal and the more than 4,000 visits, consolidated Funergal as the best professional forum.
